When the giant white dog showed up at this couple’s home, she reminded them of a polar bear. They knew she needed help, but she kept running away.
They tried to catch the giant dog but she wasn’t having it. She tried to get away by running through the trees and across the creek. They couldn’t get closer than 50 feet to her before she’d run off again. Not even the promise of treats could lure her closer.
Finally, after a few hours, the husband was able to pick her up. As he carried her to their home, she melted into his arms. He put her in the garage since they didn’t know if she’d get along with their dog but soon they realized that something was wrong.
The dog was limping so badly that they took her to the vet. They got her right in but the news wasn’t good. She had the worst hips the vet had ever seen because her hip joints were not formed right.
She had trouble getting in and out of the car and getting up the steps. So, the husband carried her. She snuggled into him as though he had always been helping her. They quickly bonded and it was clear they had already fallen in love with each other.
Now Jolene loves to cuddle with her new dad and press her whole body up to his. Mom says she has “him wrapped around her double dew claws.” The two of them adore each other and it’s so sweet to see.
The couple also has another great Pyrenees, which is a male dog. The two hit off instantly and despite her hip problems, they love to run, wrestle, and play. They call their antics floofing off. They are so sweet together and became best friends as soon as they met.
When Jolene showed up, she picked the perfect house. They love her and even have plans to get her hips fixed so that she’ll have a better quality of life. She’s completed their family and they couldn’t have chosen a more perfect dog.
