Sheldon Holland was stationed in Kandahar, Afghanistan when he worked with Django. Django was a war dog from the American K9 unit. They spent several years together in the war. At the end of this time, Sheldon had to move away to finish out his contract. However, he promised Django that one day they would live together in South Africa.

After two years, Sheldon proved to be a man of his word. He pulled all the necessary strings and had Django delivered to him in South Africa. Sheldon was waiting for him when he arrived at Johannesburg’s quarantine kennels.

This video of their reunion is so touching. You can see Django overcome with excitement when he spots his owner. Once they let him off his leash, Django darts for Sheldon. The two best friends are reunited at last!
