You’ve probably heard of MrBeast. He’s a 21-year-old YouTube star who was one of the most-viewed creators on the platform in 2019. He has 27 million subscribers and is doing great things for dogs and others with his money.
One of his recent stunts has warmed the hearts of dog lovers everywhere. He helped find loving homes for every dog living in the FurKid shelter in Georgia. And, he did it anonymously ensuring that the dogs were adopted by people who truly wanted them, and not those looking for instant fame.
The project of helping 14 dogs find forever homes started behind the scenes. First, he and his friends got to know each adorable dog living in the shelter. They met Foxtrot, Winston, Iris, Monica, Taffy, Didi, Zeppelin, Gumpy, Tommy, Jive, Noah, Pepper, Gia, and Kelly and obviously fell in love with them all.
He then purchased multiple billboards, posted flyers, and even rented a truck that drove around town advertising the adoptable pups. As people came into the shelter to check out the dogs, he and his friends hid in a room and watched the introductions. Each dog even got their own professional photo shoot!
Shelter staff said:
“MrBeast has said his mission is to make the world a better place before he dies,” said Samantha Shelton, CEO and founder of Furkids. “Furkids makes the world a better place for homeless dogs and cats who have been abandoned, lost, injured, or sick. Our goals are aligned, and Furkids was profoundly honored to have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work with MrBeast and his extraordinary team.”
Sadly, the adoption event started off slow. To get things moving, MrBeast had to purchase 50 more billboards but he was determined to find homes for all the dogs. The process itself went forward as usual with each adopter going through an approval process, as in all normal adoptions. Despite the obstacles, within two days, happily all 14 dogs had found homes.
However, it was after the adopters had been approved that the real fun began. It was only then that MrBeast revealed his identity and gifted families with either 10 years worth of dog food, $5,000 cash, and $10,000 gift cards for pet supply stores. Of course, the new adopters were overwhelmed by his generosity but most important in all of this was their new fur family member.
No surprise, some of his own team fell in love with the adoptable dogs and his friend adopted a bulldog named Grumpy and his girlfriend gave the last available dog, Pinky, her forever home.
Jimmy Donaldson aka MrBeast is an all-around great guy who is involved in lots of philanthropy. Please pass on this great story to your family and friends.
