From the first day that she got Hippo as a foster, she wanted to show the world how many great dogs were out there just waiting for someone to save them.
What she didn’t know was that Hippo was about to save her.
Hippo is an adorable pittie who loves to give cuddles and love. When he arrived, he had some health challenges that needed to be treated but that didn’t stop him from showing his foster family what a loving yet quirky dog he was.
He loved his foster mom but also strongly bonded with his foster dad. He loved to sit on their laps, play, and give lots of kisses. It was clear that Hippo loved his foster family and was super happy to be there.
Hippo experienced lots of firsts with his new family. He got oatmeal baths to help heal his skin, got to go swimming, lots of tasty treats, a trip to the beach, and even went shopping for new toys.
When Hippo started feeling better, his adorable personality really began to shine. He was a big goofy dude who loved to entertain his foster family. He was super fun and even found his voice for the first time.
Hippo loved his family but soon things were going to change. Two months after he arrived, his foster mom and dad broke up. Even though dad was gone, Hippo and mom got through the loss together and he stuck by his mom’s side every step of the way.
Hippo helped his mom get through each day and all the firsts she now had to go through without her partner. She had Hippo to comfort and distract her. They had a lot of adjusting to do but they could do it together.
It soon became clear that Hippo wasn’t going anywhere. Somewhere along the way he morphed from foster into foster failure and his mom wouldn’t have it any other way. Hippo is just the sweetest and we couldn’t imagine his mom being able to ever give him up.
