Espy was one of 22 dogs rescued from an animal hoarding situation and taken to the Austin Animal Center. Underweight and scared, the dog had been used for breeding and was no longer being taken care of by her overwhelmed owner.
When Morgan met Epsy at the shelter, Epsy went right up to her and kissed her. Despite her fears and physical condition, Epsy decided to trust Morgan, so Morgan applied to adopt her right then.
After she decided to take Epsy home, Morgan then had to break the news to her husband, Allen, who was at work. So, she sent him a text message that said, “look what I did!” She knew Epsy was perfect for their family so she took the chance that all would be okay.
And, of course, it was because Allen fell in love with Epsy and now calls her, “his little potato.” When Allen comes home from work, the first thing he does after saying hello to Morgan he tiptoes up to Epsy and tell her he’s going to get her, which she adores.
Now that Epsy is part of a family, she is the happiest dog. However, she had a lot of adjustments to make. She had to learn how to walk through doorways and sometimes still needs to be carried. But she learned what life inside a house was all about and what it means to have a family that loves her.
Today, Epsy loves to play Frisbee with her dad but deep down is a momma’s girl. She loves Morgan and the two of them like to snuggle up and comfort each other. When they’re together, all is right in their world.
Despite Epsy’s neglect and rough start in life, she is the best girl. She loves to be goofy, has learned what a couch is all about, and loves to lick her mom. She’s a silly girl who is very expressive and full of life.
Now her life is full of love and laughter and her humans can’t imagine a life without her. They give her the best life they can and repays it with lots of love. We’re so glad that she was rescued from her situation and got the life deserved.
We hope you enjoyed Epsy’s rescue story. She’s just one example of so many great dogs out there just waiting for someone to love them. Please spread the message by sharing her story with your friends.
