Rescue Dog May Not Be The Smartest But He Is The Funniest

Duncan’s mom says he isn’t the smartest dog she’s ever had but he is the funniest.

When Greta’s dog suddenly passed away, she was cautioned by well-meaning friends not to rush out and get another dog. At first, she chose not to. But soon, she found herself looking at shelter dogs.

And, that’s how she saw Peanut Butter, a stray who was living in a Northern Chicago shelter. Peanut Butter was looking for a home of his own and when Greta saw him for the first time, his eyes drew her in. So, she brought him home to heal both of their broken hearts.

Peanut Butter had been picked up as a stray by animal control. There were rumors that his owner wasn’t the nicest person and had been involved in an altercation. Even though it’s presumed he had a home at one time, the dog was rough around the edges.

But that didn’t bother Greta who renamed him Duncan. At his new home, Duncan is quite the character. He’s a little wild. He loves to eat rain and snow. He likes to growl, bark, and lunge at things. He enjoys playing in the water fountain but he doesn’t like going swimming or to take a bath.

Duncan also has some other quirks. For instance, he doesn’t have much use for other dogs. But when he and his mom moved from Chicago to the suburbs, he loved meeting new people and happily greeting the construction workers in his new subdivision.

Duncan is a silly boy who always seems to know what he needs to do. He knows when he needs to sleep in or when he needs to go for a 5-mile walk. His mom says that maybe he’s smarter than she thought…

And, even though Duncan can live without dog friends, he has a new cat bestie named Coco Bubbles that he loves. Coco Bubbles joined the family after their previous kitty passed away and Duncan fell into a depression and spent months grieving.

Coco Bubbles was a rescue that also needed a home so Greta adopted her for Duncan. She helped Duncan get over his grief and the two are now inseparable friends. She is Duncan’s cat and he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Despite Duncan’s quirks, like chasing his tail and acting goofy with his toys, he’s the sweetest boy and super gentle with his kitty. His mom adores him and is so glad she followed her heart and rescued him when she did.

We hope you enjoyed their sweet rescue story of Duncan and Coco Bubbles. As always, please feel free to share with your friends.
