People who have lived through hard times are often empathetic to other people facing similar sufferings. They are usually willing to help and support those in need. Apparently, animals also share this trait if this sweet little dog, Lana, is any indication.
As 8-month-old puppies, Lana and her siblings were living on the streets of Brazil. They had little hope of a future until a rescue came along and saved them. Shortly thereafter, Suelen Schaumloeffel and her fiancé adopted Lana, giving the sweet black lab mix a forever home.
The couple gave the grateful puppy a warm bed, regular meals, and lots of love-all the things she was missing while living on the cold and lonely streets. They also gave her a cozy blanket when the temperatures got colder.
The little dog must have a heart of gold because one day, as her dad was leaving the house, he saw something strange. Lana had dragged her blanket outside and was lying near the fence sharing her warm blanket with a cold stray dog.
The couple was familiar with the stray and had tried to approach the dog to see if it had tags and to try to help but the dog always ran away. They had no idea that Lana had apparently befriended the dog.
Suelen said, “I thought, ‘How beautiful what she did for her friend,’ my best four-legged friend reminded me of something so important: generosity….She is the nicest little dog I’ve ever met. We forget sometimes the difference we can make in someone’s life. She reminded me of this.”
Lana has a beautiful soul and understands how important it is to pay it forward. Her parents continued to try to help the stray dog but never were able to catch it. They shared the sweet pictures of her sharing her blanket on Facebook and received thousands of comments about the generosity of Lana.
Suelen wrote on Facebook, “Seeing the friend without a home and cold, Lana did not hesitate to share the blanket. She took it to the fence and offered a piece to her friend. Each on one side of the fence, but both warm. I swear that when I saw this record I was moved. I was so overwhelmed by her generosity!”
We are so touched by this sweet act of kindness. Lana is such an example to us all. Please share her sweet message of love and generosity with your family and friends.

They make life so
much warmer with their returning our attention with unimaginable interaction of their own. So we should definitely always pay attention when they obviously need a little back or belly scratch or rub. They crave our love and return it three- fold…..we
are their world and giving them loving
frequent attention will
not only please them, but they will give it right back to us. And, face it, no one will ever admire, accept and trust us more than our dear pets!!!
