A Pit Bull that was used in a dog fighting ring is now officially a member of the North Carolina law enforcement community.
Nibbles, as he's now called, has joined the Craven County Sheriff's Office. Nibbles was rescued from a dog fighting ring in Canada by the Throw Away Dogs Project back in 2015. The Throw Away Dogs Project is an organization dedicated to rehabilitating dogs and turning them into narcotics detection K-9s for law enforcement.
Deputy McCaw is Nibbles' new handler, and on Thursday, Deputy Nibbles was officially sworn in as a member of the Sheriff's Office after passing rigorous testing and proving to be well trained and capable of reliably detecting narcotics to help the community.
"Join us in welcoming K9 Nibbles to the Craven County Sheriff’s Office. K9 Nibbles and Corporal W. McCaw will be joining the K9 division in our continued fight against drugs being trafficked and sold in Craven County," the Sheriff's Office posted.
Good luck, Deputy Nibbles! Everyone is rooting for you!
