Watching a dog walker handle a pack of dog is pretty impressive. How do they keep so many dogs happy and under control as they cruise down the street? Even more impressive is how this dog walker manages to capture their daily excursions in pictures.
Can you imagine, each day you walk a pack of dogs – sometimes up to 20 – and manage to keep them all under control at the same time? And not only that, the pack changes each day as dogs come and go, and as new dogs join you….
You’d have to be some kind of dog walking/ dog training ninja to pull it off, right?
Now imagine that each day you to take a picture of that same pack of dogs and get them all to pose at the same time.
That is exactly what this dog walker manages to do.
Since 2011, Tim Pink has been taking awesome pictures of the pack of dogs that he walks each day. And not only that, he somehow manages to get all the dogs to look at the camera, and he lets go of their leash to do it.
Tim is with Saratoga Dog Walkers and his clients, the pups, seem pretty happy to have him and his team as their handlers. In each awesome picture, the dogs are artfully arranged and smiling out at the camera, looking pleased as can be.
The dogs are walked around town and in residential areas and get a lot of attention from homeowners and passersby. Some people even stop their cars so they can get a better look or take a picture.
Despite making the pack walk look easy, Pink can’t just add any dog. As dogs come and go, he spends time evaluating new pups before they are allowed to join the pack walk. Not only does he spend time with them, he evaluates their level of obedience, etc. to be sure they will be a good fit, thus ensuring it’s a great experience for all the dogs.
Pink and his team also know the name of each dog and practice calling out to them on walks to be sure they respond and that they can get their attention when they need to. So the walks are fun walk/training/adventure, everyday!
“When called, each dog looks right up at him, no matter what is going on around the pack, including when someone else is walking their dog or when there’s traffic,” according to The Daily Gazette.
For Pink, walking dogs is his passion and he is helping people and dogs all over town. He shares some of his secrets on Instagram, including this post:
“Walk when I walk, stop when I stop. It’s an important concept for dogs to learn if you’re going to have a smooth walk. Make it a rule and the dog has to start paying more attention to you ? So start small, one step at a time, so it’s very clear for the dog. And get lots of repetitions so it becomes habit!! ??? Congrats— you’re working your way to a more MINDFUL dog” ????
Please share this story with your family and friends but not before you see Pink demonstrate his pack walk in this video.
