Glenne is a friendly pup with a bubbly personality and energy to match. She loves to run and play but she’s spent her entire life at a shelter except for being adopted for one short hour before being returned.

The cute dog is a mix of a husky and a jindo dog so she’s naturally athletic, alert, loyal, and intelligent. She’s a special girl that deserves a home of her own. Finally, she’s being adopted and will be going to her forever home with her excited new mom.

But once there, Glenne is afraid of her new house. When she sees the inside of the front door for the first time, she freezes in uncertainty. Gone is the outgoing, confident pup that ruled the shelter play yard. She is now a terrified dog that doesn’t know what to do.

Lucky for Glenne, her new mom is very understanding and determined to help her. But they have a major problem to deal with. Primarily, Glenne is scared to walk on the hard floors so she skitters and slides all over the place.

However, even her profound fear doesn’t stop her from gulping down her food. But as soon as she’s done eating, she tries to run away and ends up slipping through the room before planting herself on the floor in fear and refusing to move.

Her new mom is worried but isn’t going to give up on her. So, she places mats down to give Glenne some traction while she learns how to walk on the hard flooring. But, Glenne is still afraid and doesn’t want her paws to even touch the floor.

So, the next thing mom tries is to visit a doggy daycare. There, Glenne’s outgoing personality comes out and she even walks fine on the hard floors! It’s as if she transformed into her old self but once they are back home, she is afraid again.

Her new mom tries and tries to comfort and help but Glenne isn’t making progress. She continues to live in fear. This breaks Mom’s heart because Glenne is not even comfortable when she sleeps. So, she decides to get some expert help.

The expert determines that in Glenne’s mind, her new home is a place she needs to escape from, a “capture cage.” So, they get to work creating a new mindset for Glenne. They are going to help her overcome her fear and plant good memories in her mind.

It’s not easy, but soon Glenne begins to make some progress. She learns to relax so they can start working on overcoming her fears. Little by little, Glenne begins taking more and more steps toward mental freedom.

Her mom is so encouraging of her and never gives up on helping her overcome her painful memories. Now Glenne is at peace in her forever home. We hope you enjoyed this rescue story. As always, please feel free to share with your friends.
