Animal Shelter Wants You To Raid It Instead Of Area 51

A Facebook group has earned a lot of attention for urging people to storm Area 51 and “see them aliens” on September 20. About 1.7 million users have marked that they are going to the event. But, before you do that and mess with the US Air Force's super-secret military facility, you might want to make a stop in Oklahoma.

An Oklahoma City animal shelter is encouraging Americans to "come storm our shelter" instead and pick up some adorable tin-foil-hat-wearing critters to "protect you from the Area 51 aliens."

On Friday, OKC Animal Welfare in Oklahoma City  made the Facebook post stating, "We have great animals ready to protect you from the Area 51 aliens," adding, "adoption isn't that far out of this world!"

According to its website, it has 156 dogs, 24 cats, two pigs and a hamster available for adoption.

Facebook users loved the idea and the creative pictures the shelter included in the post.
