This puppy may only weigh 10 ounces, but she knows how to use each one of them to terrify her 75-pound foster brother.
Lemon was so tiny; she could walk into the palm of her foster mom’s hand. Her foster would even joke that she was her elevator as she raised her to hold her.
Another way Lemon told her foster mom that she wanted to be picked up was to stand on her mom’s foot. The tiny puppy was as light as a feather, but it was her signal that meant, “Ok, I’m ready to be picked up!”
Lemon got her name because she was the size of an actual lemon fruit. And her foster mom took this video of the puppy and the fruit side-by-side to prove it.
Her small size may have been because she was very malnourished and sick when she arrived at the rescue. She had been living under a porch by herself, but she was a little fighter and she managed to survive the ordeal.
She was also full of attitude and that probably helped. The sassy puppy was full of spunk and once she was feeling better, loved to tell her foster siblings what to do even though she was much smaller than them.
But her bossiness didn’t stop with the little dogs. She even loved to boss her 75-pound boxer mix foster brother around, but he was terrified of her. He acted as if he wasn’t sure of what the tiny but mighty creature that smelled like a dog was.
It was as if Lemon didn’t realize she was only the size of one of his paws as she relentlessly bugged him all day long. Lemon truly thought she was a big dog even though she was the size of a peanut.
The adorable Lemon fit right into her foster home. But, when she hit 1 pound, it was time to look for her forever home. Her foster found the perfect home with the friend of a neighbor, so it wasn’t goodbye, it was just ‘see you later.’
Of course, Lemon fit right into her new home and never missed a beat. She plays, is loved, and continues to be her sassy self and her foster mom couldn’t be happier for her and still gets to watch her grow up.
We hope you enjoyed the rescue story about this tiny survivor. Please feel free to share with your friends.
