Joanne Lefson rescued Pigcasso in 2016 as a 1 month-old from a slaughterhouse. She brought her to Farm Sanctuary SA located in Franschhoek in South Africa to live her life. While Pigcasso was being an adorable but naughty little piglet, destroying everything in her stall except for some paint brushes, Joanne knew she was special. It wasn't long before Pigcasso started painting and this extraordinary artist came to being. Both Pigcasso and Joanne work together to create beautiful paintings, with Joanne selecting the colours for Pigcasso to paint with. Pigcasso paints by holding the paintbrush in her mouth and creates magical pieces of art on white canvas. To make these works even more special, Pigcasso signs every single one with the tip of her nose, followed by a countersign by Joanne and a Certificate of Authenticity. All the proceeds from sales of Pigcasso's artwork go towards supporting the work Lefson does at Farm Sanctuary SA.
