A fire-breathing Frenchie that loves to do yoga and bite ankles is up for adoption…again.
Ralphie the Menace has a naughty side. And, it has landed him back in the shelter three times. Despite his cuteness, he’s a challenge and needs a special forever home that can deal with his quirks.
"We're sure you all remember Ralphie, the adorable Frenchie with the attitude. He went to a home not quite two weeks ago and while the adopter had the right household dynamic, Ralphie proved to be more than she could handle," The Niagara SPCA said in a Facebook post last week.
"There were some bad choices made by both, but they parted ways amicably. He took his CDs, and she kept his sweatshirt. She now understands that Ralphie is that good-looking bad boy everyone's mama warns them about," the post added.
Also known as “The Jerk from Niagara SPCA,” Ralphie has received national attention across social media. But the shelter director, Amy, says it doesn’t make it any easier to pick the right family, in other words, one that can tolerate his behavior.
At first glance, Ralphie appears to be just an adorable little Frenchie just looking for a home of his own. He shakes, enjoys treats, and loves to play. He also has the sweetest smiling face but it’s hiding some issues.
Despite some of the shade being thrown at the shelter for calling Ralphie a jerk, they say it’s a term of endearment but they also want to be sure he finds he right home this time. They don’t want to be returned again, for his sake. Honesty is the best policy so anyone interested in Ralphie should understand…
Ralphie has some serious dog reactivity. He spits and growls and can’t come within ten feet of another dog.
Ralphie needs a friend that can match his energy and also could love "a terror in a somewhat small package."
Ralphie has a sad history. His first owners failed to train him. Then his second home returned him for annoying their older dog. His third home didn’t work out and the shelter is hoping the fourth time will be the charm despite his reputation.
"What they actually meant was: Ralphie is a fire-breathing demon and will eat your dog, but hey, he's only 26lbs," the adoption post read. "Lots of people withheld Ralphie's less-than-desirable traits, but we're going to tell you all about it. He's a whole jerk- not even half."
Those interested in adopting the "terror" should send a letter of interest and dog experience "resume" to the Niagara SPCA.
Let’s help Ralphie find a loving home. There is someone for everyone and out there is the perfect person for him. Please share with your friends.
