When the neighbor’s large dog was mauling her small dog inside her garage, she was unable to stop the vicious attack. But then, her cat stepped in.
Michaella Franklin was working in her garage one Saturday when suddenly the neighbor’s large dog showed up. The dog looked at her then ran into her garage and began attacking her small dog, Bailey.
Her dog hunkered down while being mauled. Michaella tried to pull the large dog off and even tried to separate them with a bicycle pump but nothing was working. It seemed the attack had been going on for 10 to 15 minutes when help finally came.
The family cat Mocha came to the rescue by distracting the dog. Bailey was then able to get free. Michaella said that the only reason Bailey is alive today is because of the brave kitty’s help.
Bailey suffered serious injuries and had to have surgery to close the deep bites. She now has drains in her and not only is she in pain but the poor little dog and her owner are also traumatized by the attack.
Bailey’s vet bill was over $2,000 and hopefully, the neighbor will do the right thing and reimburse her owners for the costs. In the meantime, the police department is investigating the incident.
Animal control is also involved but they treat animal-on-animal attacks differently than they do animal attacks on humans. Animal control is more concerned with the safety of humans and most dogs that will attack a dog will never bite a human, according to their office.
We wish sweet Bailey a full recovery and hope that she can forget this horrible incident. Shout out to brave kitty Mocha who saved the day. Without the kitty’s help, things would have been much worse for Bailey.
Everyone is responsible to keep their dogs from harming other animals. We’re glad this turned out okay in the end even though what happened is terrible. As always, please feel free to share with your friends.
