A tiny Chihuahua showed up at The Mia Foundation and was immediately placed in a warm, fluffy bed. But what happened next amazed the rescue worker so much that she immediately began taking pictures.
As soon as the little Chihuahua named Lundy arrived at the rescue a worker immediately put him in the closest bed, which happened to be occupied by a rescue pigeon named Herman. But she didn’t expect Herman would react the way he did.
Herman immediately began to mother Lundy and even tried to sit on him, just like a momma bird sitting would sit on her chicks. The rescuer couldn’t believe her eyes, so she ran and got her camera and took these adorable photos.
Even though the two species were very different, they did have some things in common. The Mia Foundation rescues animals with birth defects and both Herman and Lundy have some physical limitations.
When Lundy arrived at the rescue, he couldn’t use his back legs, so the rescue started working with him. Four weeks later, some health issues were ruled out so there was hope that they could help him but he was still too small for the MRI that he needs.
Herman was rescued a year before from a car dealership parking lot. He had some neurological problems and could no longer fly so the sweet bird now lives at the rescue with the rest of the animals.
As soon as Herman met the 1-pound Lundy, he took the puppy under his wing. He apparently sympathizes with Lundy. The two provide each other with a lot of comforts despite all their differences.
Having Lundy by his side has given Herman a better quality of life. The two are adorable best friends and love to share. But the cutest thing is when they snuggle together in their fluffy bed.
